A Save and Effective Way To Kill Bed Bugs Forever

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Save Way To Kill Bed Bugs

If you have experienced the frustrating and often painful effects of bed bug infestation, you may well have wondered "Is there a safe way to kill bed bugs?"

You’ll be glad to know that there is. Despite the resilience of the little critters, you do not have to drench your mattress in pesticide or choke on poisonous vapors in order to rid yourself of these pests. There is a safe and very simple way to kill bed bugs – kill them with a temperature change.

Bed bugs are very affected by the temperature of their environments so they can actually be killed by a low temperature as well as by a high one. However, it is easier by far to subject bed bugs to high temperatures in such a way as to kill them and their eggs and stop the cycle.

One of the most effective ways to expose bed bugs to high temperatures for the purpose of eradication is to use steam vapor cleaning. Bed bugs are not limited to mattress and bedding, they infest the carpets, curtains, walls and anywhere they can get a foothold. So steam cleaning the mattress, carpet, curtains and even the walls and other surfaces will go a long way to permanently removing them. You cannot leave it at that, however. You will also need to wash all bedding and any clothes or items which could be infected.

Simple vacuuming is also beneficial. Daily vacuuming of the mattress and carpet can remove or limit the threat when combined with heat from steam cleaning or other sources. If you do not have access to steam cleaning, some people have successfully used hairdryers on high heat to kill bed bugs on mattresses and others have used an iron. It is important that the high temperatures are applied suddenly so that the bed bugs do not get the opportunity to scatter and survive.

If you feel that heat isn’t enough and want an extra sense of certainty in eradicating bed bugs, you can make up a mixture of tea tree oil and water in a spray bottle and lightly mist your mattress and carpet and any other relevant furnishings. This will not be strong enough on its own, however, combined with heat will significantly enhance your chances of success.

Using pesticides, particularly on mattresses and in bedrooms can pose serious risks to human health. Furthermore, bed bugs can build up an immunity to these chemicals rendering them useless.

Fortunately, bed bugs are very vulnerable to temperature and applying heat to them is a safe and easy way to eradicate them from your home.

Tips On Bed Bugs While Traveling

Posted by: admin  /  Category: Tips On Bed Bugs

No one wants bed bugs while traveling find out what you can do to kill bed bugs.

It’s everyone’s worst nightmare: you come back from a lovely 2-week holiday in the sun and find that you’ve brought home more than you bargained for – bed bugs! They can be really difficult to get rid of, so the best thing to do is avoid getting them in the first place. Bed bugs are quite difficult to identify when you are abroad, so you have to be very careful when abroad, and always think twice about leaving any luggage on your beds.

Bed bugs mainly hide in luggage and attach themselves to clothing, so if you can avoid placing your suitcases or loose clothes on any furniture then you should do so. A lot of hotels now provide suitcase stands, or at least some storage space under a table which will house a suitcase, so you should take advantage of this if it is on offer.

If you find traces of bed bugs after spending a few days in your room, maybe through bites or on the bed-sheets, then clean your luggage with hot water as thoroughly as possible. If you can, then find a small vacuum cleaner and go around your entire luggage with it. You should also request a different room as soon as you find any trace of bed bugs being there or having been there in the past, as there is no guarantee that they are no longer present.

If you are unfortunate enough to bring bed bugs home with you, then follow the same instructions above, but also get rid of bed bugscall an exterminator in, because giving your luggage a thorough wash may not be enough to kill them. It probably won’t be enough to just wash your luggage, but you’ll need to give all your home furniture a clean and vacuum all of your carpets. Calling in the exterminator should kill all the bugs and any eggs they may have lain, which will prevent a recurrence of the problem in the future.

It’s very possible that you could get some bed bug bites either on holiday or when you return home, so you need to know exactly how to deal with them. Immediately upon discovering the bite, you should wash it in warm soapy water then apply some ice and antihistamine cream which will stop the itching. If the worst comes to the worst, and the bite gets infected, then go see a doctor and he or she will advise you further.
